OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID

Orthodox Patriarchal Catechetical School of America offers a program of financial assistance to those students who are eligible and qualify. Financial assistance may be offered in the form of scholarships, grants, assistantships, loans, and/or employment. Awards are based on academic performance, demonstrated need, and the availability of funds. Approximately eighty-five percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. The Office of Financial Aid will be glad to discuss how a student's particular needs can be met.

Loans provide students with the opportunity to borrow against future earnings. Several loan programs supported by OPCSA and the Church are available on the basis of financial need. Work/study opportunities on ecampus make it possible for students to defray the cost of their education through part-time employment.

All students are expected to contribute to their education. All financial aid awards are considered supplemental to the contribution of the family and the student. To be eligible for financial aid, a student must: be accepted into the school, be enrolled full-time in a diploma program, be in good academic standing and make satisfactory academic progress as outlined by school standards, and complete all necessary applications on a timely basis. All forms are available in the Office of Financial Aid.

The major functions of the Office of Financial Aid at OPCSA are:

1.  Award and disburse funds in conjunction with the Finance Office.

2.  Report Financial Aid at the institutional, state, and federal levels.

3.  Provide an open-door policy to assist students and parents (if applicable).
